In-person Staten Island CLARO programs have recently resumed. The clinic will be held on the following dates for the first half of 2024: 1/9, 1/23, 2/6, 2/20, 3/5, 3/19, 4/2, 4/16, 4/30, 5/14, 5/28, 6/11 and 6/25 from 2pm to 4pm on the 2nd floor at the Staten Island Civil Courthouse (927 Castleton Ave, Staten Island, NY). Currently, an appointment is required to attend the clinic. Please call the CLARO hotline (929-388-0885) on Mondays from 12pm-2pm or email intake@claronyc.org to schedule an appointment. 

Staten Island CLARO continues to provide some legal advice by telephone to a limited number of individuals with consumer debt issues. We recommend that you contact CLARO as soon as you become aware that there is a case against you, if possible before filing your Answer with the Court. If you have already filed your Answer don't worry, just contact CLARO as soon as you can - the earlier the better. And if you only realize there's a case against you once a default judgment has been entered and your wages or bank account are being garnished, it's not too late - CLARO may be able to help.

What to Gather:

• A complete copy of your court file, which you can get from the Clerk's Office
• Any court documents you have, including the summons and complaint
• Any other documents relating to your debt
• A government ID, in case there is a need to notarize a signature.
